In 2011, Rio Tinto Marine shipped 163 million tonnes of dry bulk seaborne cargo to markets around the world and managed nearly 100,000 container movements for speciality minerals and metals.
Rio Tinto Marine, which is headquartered in Melbourne, provides services across the Group to ensure that maximum efficiency is achieved across all of our mine-to-market supply chains.
Our shipping professionals manage all aspects of the supply chain, including vessel selection, operational safety, scheduling, port efficiency and cost management.
The marine division owns a fleet of five ships, with 15 new ships being delivered before the end of 2014.
